Alissa McGonigal - Director

I am so excited and grateful to be leading the Home School Academy this year! I was born and raised in Idaho, received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Montana (Go Grizzlies!), and my Masters in Education from Loyola University Maryland. I also have my Montessori Elementary Certification. I have taught at public schools (multiple grades) and private Montessori Schools (multi-age). I love Idaho and am so glad to be moving home to be near my family! I have a true passion for working with children of all ages. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.

I have been married for 26 years and have three fantastic grown children. I love to visit them wherever they are in the world. I enjoy traveling, knitting, reading, hiking, camping, river rafting, projects, fiber art, baking, the beach, lakes and mountains. I look forward to getting to know this amazing community of learners!

Chloey Davis - Instructor

Chloey Davis has been teaching at The Homeschool Academy for two years. She has taught art, music, storytelling, and American folk music. Chloey grew up in Prescott Arizona and was raised in a very creative family playing music, making art, and spending time in nature. She graduated with an Associate of Fine Arts and continued her education with a bachelor's degree in Bluegrass music from East Tennessee State University.

Since a very young age Chloey has taught and interacted with children through preschools, summer camps, art clubs, music lessons, and nature connection camps. The acts of making art, creating beauty, and striving to live a nature based creative life are priorities in her daily life and she loves to share those passions in her teaching. Chloey is thrilled to be teaching at The Homeschool Academy again this year with a fresh and exciting hands on DIY art class.
